Nail Shapes & Lengths: A Quick Guide to Choosing Your Set
September 21, 2026 · My Store Admin
Shape changes everything. The same design reads delicate on a short oval and dramatic on a long stiletto — here is how to pick the silhouette that fits your hands and your life.
Oval — soft, rounded edges that follow your natural nail line. The most forgiving shape and the easiest first set: elegant, low-maintenance, suits every hand.
Square — straight sides and a flat tip. Clean and modern, great for French designs and minimal art. Best on longer nail beds.
Coffin (ballerina) — tapered sides with a squared-off tip. The editorial favourite: elongates the fingers and gives 3D charms and filigree room to breathe.
Almond — tapered to a soft point. Feminine and lengthening, a little more delicate in daily wear than oval or square.
Stiletto — long, sharp and unapologetic. Maximum drama for events, photoshoots and nights out; choose adhesive tabs for a one-night statement.
A note on length: short sets are the everyday heroes — typing, gym, kids, no problem. Medium is the sweet spot most of our customers choose. Long and extra-long sets are made for occasions, so plan your wear around them.
Still torn between two shapes? Start with medium oval — it is the shape almost everyone comes back to. Every set page lists the exact shape and length in the product photos, and custom shape requests are always welcome through our contact page.
